A spectator at a celebrity golf tournament got caught in the crosshairs after Chiefs superstar Travis Kelce took a big swing.

Kelce — alongside his brother Jason, WWE star Mike "The Miz" Mizanin and many others — began his first round of the 2024 American Century Championship, a celebrity tournament benefitting a number of charities, at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course on Friday, July 12. The tight end, 34, was on hole 16 of the Lake Tahoe course when he went for a big drive, and hit a fan in the process.

The fan, who appeared to be a woman in her 20s, was struck in the back of the head. An eyewitness said streaks of blood could be seen through her blonde hair. Paramedics quickly arrived on the scene and rendered aid as she sat on the ground. After a few minutes, the woman was able to stand up again.

Kelce could be seen going up to the fan after his swing, making the long walk down the course to check on her before quipping that the least he could do was take a picture with her after the hit.

Jason could also be seen approaching the fan to make sure she was alright, and the woman joked to the Eagles alum that she wasn't sure if the ball was hit by him or his brother. Paramedics later transported her off of the course, and the tournament resumed.

Just last week, Travis and Jason joked about what they might do if they were to hit a bystander with a ball during the celebrity tournament during their most recent episode of their New Heightspodcast.

"This is my first time out in Lake Tahoe, do you have any advice?" Jason asked his brother, who previously won the tournament in 2023.

"My advice would be don't feel bad if you hit somebody because they bought the ticket," he joked, to which his brother immediately replied: "I don't feel bad if I ever hit anybody."

"It's a bunch of amateurs out there trying to play golf so don't feel bad," Travis continued. "People have been hit before. They got EMTs, whatever it's called, they got right there at every hole. Everybody will be fine."
