Newfie Puppy Meets Grandpa’s Cat for the First Time and Is Totally Spooked
Have you ever thought about a world without cats? Most of us can't even remember the first time we met a cat, let alone think about a world without them. So we can only imagine how strange it must've been for a Newfoundland puppy when he saw a cat for the very first time. The dog was totally freaked!
Little Po was visiting his grandpaw-rents, but he never expected to meet, whatever that thing was, while he was there.
Little Po looked like he saw a ghost when he spotted another four-legged creature in the house. It's almost like you could hear him saying, "What in the world is that?"

In the clip his owner shared, it shows the Newfie having the cutest meltdown after spotting the cat. "My grandparents are watching me this week and they have a cat," the onscreen caption reads. "I'm a little iffy about whatever that thing is!"
"I don't know what that thing is but I'm gonna get it!" the dog owner joked in the caption.
Po had people in the comments section rolling. Some of them shared their dog's first time meeting other animals too. "My dog saw a goat for the first time today and was so confused at what kind of dog that was," wrote one person. "The first time my dog saw llamas, she lost her puppy mind!" another commenter agreed. "My dog met a cow yesterday, he didn't know what to do," a third person added.
While someone shared that they had the opposite situation going on. "I dog sat last weekend and my cat wouldn't let the dog out of his sight," they wrote.
Introducing Your Dog to Your Cat
Cats and dogs are sometimes thought of as natural enemies, but that doesn't have to be the case. The key is to go slow and make sure your animals have their own space.
When you first bring your pets home, try and keep them apart for the first three to four days. You just want your pets to get used to each other's presence without meeting.
It can also help to feed them on opposite sides of the same door. Place their food bowls on different sides of the door, so they can smell each other and learn that there's another creature in the house.
Teach your dog some basic commands like "sit" and "down," so you can control them if things get out of hand. Then, when you're comfortable, introduce your pet and keep it short. If things go well, you can keep introducing them. Eventually your animals will be able to spend time together without you, but getting to that point can take some patience and time. Have no fear! A little perseverance will pay off.
