Lhasa Apso Gets Busted for Lying to Mom and Dad in Most Hilarious Way Possible

Your dog would never lie to you, right? We mean, it's impossible for them to not tell you the truth. Well, that's not exactly true. Dogs can be sort of sneaky, as one trickster Lhasa Apso showed in a hilarious video of him getting busted.

Don't let Chaktah's cute face fool you, the senior dog has been fooling his parents for almost a year.

The dog parents showed the culprit in a video on TikTok. They explained that Chaktah's crime was pretending that he couldn't use the stairs. He'd bark for his owners to carry him when going up or down and they bought it. They'd carry him "like royalty."

Overtime they started to suspect that something was off with the Lhasa Apso. But finally they had their proof. Chaktah's dog dad came home to find that a pile of his clothes had been riffled through — even though they had barricaded the stairs.

Bustedddddd.

Luckily for Chaktah, his owners have a good sense of humor and weren't too angry. Thankfully it seems like they won't hold his little white lie against him.

This is apparently a common occurrence because people in the comments section could totally relate. "I thought my senior cat had finally gone deaf maybe like 10 years ago, but turns out she was just ignoring us for like 6 months. She finally went deaf like 8 years later (confirmed by vet)," shared one person. "I’m a dog sitter and just watched a 15-year-old with no health issues. Owners told me he couldn’t do the stairs but every night for nine nights he slept with me in the guest room, he would just appear," someone else added. "My dog faked hearing loss until I taught her signs. Then she would turn her head and side eye me when she didn't want to listen," added another commenter.

Why Does My Dog Ignore Me?

It's important to know that our dogs can't understand us. They really can't! Dogs communicate through visual cues, so most of what we say to them is noise. If you say something to your pup multiple times and they don't seem to hear you, it's probably best to stop talking to them. In fact, you might be actually training your dog to ignore you. Attention is a reward to a dog, so the more you tell them to get off the couch, the more they'll give it a try.

That's all to say, dogs aren't ignoring us because they're trying to be sneaky. They simply don't know what we're going on about. To them, most of what we say to them is simply noise.
