English Bulldog Refuses to Speak to Mom After She Won’t Serve Second Breakfast

If there's one thing that all dogs look forward to, it's chow time. However, most dogs always want more than they are given, whether they need it or not. Gary is an English Bulldog who loves to eat almost as much as he loves to sleep. His mom shared a video on Saturday, July 6th of Gary throwing a fit after she wouldn't serve him Round Two of breakfast, and it's cracking people up.

The video starts with Gary sitting and staring into the corner of the kitchen. He's clearly upset and refuses to look at or acknowledge his mom. Mom asks what's wrong, but Gary won't answer her. Mom already knows she's getting the cold shoulder because even though he just had breakfast, he's ready for more. Make sure your sound is on because the song playing with the video makes it even funnier!

It doesn't look like Gary needs a second breakfast! I'm sure he won't starve if he has to wait a few hours. Commenters also got a kick at Gary's reaction to his mom. @R@ch3L wasn't wrong when she said, "Gary’s ignore game is on point! LOL!" @Shril Cra added, "I love how he ignores you pretends doesn’t hear you!"

How Much Food Should English Bulldogs Eat?

Most dogs will happily overeat if given the chance, often leading to upset tummies or worse. English Bulldogs are no exception, and because obesity is a major concern in these low-energy, low-activity dogs, it's very important to keep them on a structured feeding schedule.

How much should you feed an English Bulldog? Like with any dog breed, it depends on their age, weight, and activity level. A senior dog eats less than say a very active dog. Puppies need to eat more, and more often. It's recommended that English Bulldogs eat two scheduled meals a day, and their meals should be portion controlled based on their age and weight.

That being said, they should also not be free-fed. We used to have West Highland Terriers and they weren't huge eaters. We left food out for them all day long, and they just grazed on it throughout the day. Now we have a dog (a mutt) who will eat anything and everything she can get her paws on, so we have her on scheduled meals in the morning and evening.

It's really up to your family and your lifestyle to determine which feeding method is right for you. Another Pet Helpful article offers six reasons that people choose free feeding their dogs. They include convenience, nutritional demands, and less food aggression to name a few. But scheduled meals have their own benefits like keeping the food fresh, you know exactly how much your pooch is eating, and a more reassured routine. Whichever you choose, make sure that you're not overfeeding your dog and just do what works for you.
